The Mid-Autumn Festival, or Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival, is a is a 3,000-year-old harvest festival that takes place on the 15th day of the 8th month according to the Chinese lunar calendar, and special moon cakes are eaten.  The Moon Goddess and the Jade Rabbit live on the moon.
